Baringo is in jeopardy

Baringo is in jeopardy, threatened by hands-off approach, wait and see strategy, “it is up to the national government” claims, stagnation, passivity, myopia, the “me or you” approach instead of “you and me” approach, the know-it-all spirit, and self-serving politicians and a lot of pride, greed and selfish grandstanding. Governor Kiptis has become part of Kabarnet’s broken politics and, next year, Baringo will have the opportunity to replace him.

I’m running for governor because I want to bring the long overdue, kind of leadership that Baringo and the Nation need, but also because I believe it’s the only way to unite voters from different ages, genders, abilities in all sub-counties, parties and affiliations to replace Kiptis.

Kiptis is likely to win the UDA primaries, despite opposition within the County Party System. Democrats all over the world haven’t been competitive in primaries elections for decades, and considering party primaries attracts lower voter turnout – this makes participation just a fraction of registered voters. Let’s wait and see what happens!

The point is that no single group on its own can replace Kiptis even though most Baringo would prefer a better alternative. Not principled Republicans. Not free moving Democrats. Not believing independents. And not confused third-parties.

But there is good news: we can prevail together. That is the purpose of my campaign, to unite Baringo across the partisan divide to replace Kiptis, to better serve Baringo, and to get our county on track. It won’t be easy, but we can certainly do it.

If we rise above the greed, selfishness, pride, misunderstanding and partisanship that plague Baringo now, we will win. If not, Kiptis will get another 5 years to waste opportunities and delay progress, then little will get done for Baringo, and `he’ll continue to lead the county and country further down its current path.

For the state, markets and communities, we cannot allow this to continue. Most people in Baringo don’t feel well-represented by Kiptis. My commitment is to listen to ALL THE PEOPLE OF BARINGO from every corner of the county, community and every party, and to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard, not just one faction of one party.

As a start, I am building a campaign team led by all ideological persuasions; the old independence parties, the Republicans at mind, Democrats at the soul and the independents at heart to ensure that we can reach every group. What we’re doing is unique in Baringo, but it’s the needed antidote to the missed opportunities, corrosive and wasting politics of Governor Kiptis and others.

I invite all to join us!
